Detailed Information about Role and Responsibilities:

As a Management Trainee – SAM (Sourcing & Procurement) at Genpact, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting Category Teams: Collaborate with internal category sourcing teams and clients to understand their sourcing event needs. Help draft requirement documents and business specifications.
  2. Sourcing Strategy Development: Define and develop sourcing strategies, manage RFx sourcing for mid to high events, and solicit competitive proposals from qualified suppliers. In some cases, you’ll also be involved in supplier negotiations.
  3. Contract Management: Provide support related to contracts. Identify expiring contracts, liaise with stakeholders to extend or terminate contracts, initiate legal contracts based on templates and clauses, and monitor contract compliance.
  4. Spend Analysis: Perform spend analysis, maintain reports, and conduct research to support category plans.
  5. Alternate Sourcing: Work with category leaders to develop alternate sources to single-source relationships and evaluate incumbent and new sources.
  6. Best Practices: Identify and leverage best practices where opportunities arise.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma with a strong sourcing experience.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in indirect sourcing, supplier and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Experience working with global stakeholders, suppliers, and clients outside India.
  • Professional verbal/written communication and negotiation skills in English.
  • Knowledge of the local marketplace, legislation, and suppliers.
  • Experience in a middle office type of setup – running sourcing events, taking guidance from category leaders, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience hosting virtual training and/or Q&A sessions would be beneficial.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
