Detailed Information about Role and Responsibilities:
As a Research Intern in AI at IBM, you will be part of their Summer Internship Program, a significant activity under the University Relations Program. Your responsibilities include:
- Industry Experience: Gain industry experience and work on current projects happening in the lab.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with mentors to solve complex problems.
- Technical Skills: Apply excellent coding skills in Java/Python, work with data structures, algorithms, and AI/ML fundamentals including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, neural networks, and clustering.
- Technology Stack: Use AI libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow/PyTorch, Jupyter notebooks, and deep learning fundamentals.
- Data Analysis: Work on data manipulation and analysis for large datasets using tools like pandas and NumPy.
- Technical Knowledge: Apply your knowledge of linear algebra, probability, statistics, Git, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift).
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, TPMs, and PM-Ts to contribute to ongoing projects.
- Adherence: Ensure that you follow 12-factor app design principles and adhere to IBM’s engineering best practices and governance models, including security, operations, and Enterprise Architecture requirements.
